Microsoft Automatic Updates?

I have had a problem on my computer for about 6 months now. The same 5 updates from Microsoft download, nearly every day, but will not install - other updates install - no problem.

The error code is 0x80070643 and there appears to be a remedy @

I must be doing something wrong - as I cannot get this solution to work for me.

Does anyone know another way to fix this problem - that they might be able to explain to me in simple terms?

My computer has slowed down so much, because of this ongoing problem, that I have now disabled Automatic Updates, (but check every few days to see if there is a new update - and download it).

Microsoft Automatic Updates?
Hello,

(ANS) I know this comment doesn't solve your problem but 90% of Microsoft Windows updates are utterly useless and completely unnecessary, and yes! are very likely to slow your system down.

NOTE: The only important updates are system (critical) and security updates.

**Further your system is MUCH more secure with automatic updates turned off in my opinion. This closes yet another windows vulnerability.

**You can also un-install many of the updates, if you log into your machine as the administrator (via the admin account) you should be able to look within the windows folder and see the updates. Many updates have an un-installer file that can be run to remove the specific update. (Look inside the update folder for a file called uninstall or unwise, etc).

Reply:When this happened to my PC I contacted Microsoft Support and they advised me to carry out the following process ~ and it worked.

Please log on to the following link:

%26lt;%26gt;http://djlizard.net/software/Dial-a-fix-...

It would ask you run or save the file, Click on Save and save the file on the desktop. Run the saved file which is known as “dial-a-fix”------- Tick all the options in the window ------ Click on Go ------- it will prompt you for the time and date set it correct and Click Ok.

After completion of the process (it might take 5 minutes) Click Exit and try to update Windows.
Reply:When on install, choose custom, and remove the ticks next to the problem files, and then you should be able to continue with Automatic downloads but it won;t keep trying to install the 5 problem fixes.
Reply:Normally that happens when the OSE is disabled. Most likely yours will be

okay (to check type on 'start-run' the following: services.msc and on the

window that opens scroll down to the 'office source engine' and double click

it. On the window that appears see that the start type is 'Manual'. If it is

'disabled' then drop the list of options and chose 'manual' then click ok.

Close the dialog and re-try the update again. If the start type was 'Manual',

then the problem is possibly the payload of the update in question is zero

(nothing to download...it should say 0KB for size), in this case, do not

waste time and go directly to the download URL here

Reply:It could be malware but presumably you have already run all your antivirus and antispyware scans, deleted internet cache, etc., so I would suggest that you contact Microsoft. They offer free support in situations concerning problems with security patches.

Reply:This error code can occur if you don not have system administartion rigths on you user account.

go to start%26gt;settings%26gt;control pannel%26gt;user accounts to check %26amp; change your log in account to administrator.

Some updates will not install without these rights and some will
