i just bought a factory configured HP laptop. The laptop came with Microsoft Vista and a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student edition pre-installed. i do not have ready access to the internet and was not able to use the trial version as it kept prompting for activation key which i need to get from the internet. So, last night, i collected the CD of MS Office 2007 professional with Beta edition from a friend, installed it and uninstalled the MS Home and Student edition. But when i open the Excel page or Word page, it gives me 'missing file' errors and says the Beta has expired and i should go to add/remove programe and uninstall Beta. Please what do i do? as i am stuck right now. How can i fix this problem. Please help.
Microsoft office 2007 does not work. says 'beta has expired, uninstall beta'?
The beta version is only a test version that is time limited. The beta version has already reached its expiry date, so it can't be used anymore and should be uninstalled and replaced with a real copy. If you really want/need MS Office, I suggest you get a full copy of Microsoft Office 2007 either through pay or through...other means. If you can go without it, get the free alternative, OpenOffice. You can download it safe and spyware free from CNET's Download.com.
Reply:Uninstall it and ask a friend to download OpenOffice for you.

then you can install that.
