recently i got a new laptop and it came with microsoft office word 2007 pre-installed, however it says i need to enter a product key/code to validate it, otherwise i can only use it for around 20 times which is pretty useless seeing as i use it around once a day.( i have 12 days left),
does anyone know how to get around this problem and get a product code?
Is there another free programme that is similar to microsoft word? If so what is it ?

Microsoft ofice word problem...HELP!!!?
Try search for "open office" It is free.

Reply:Most new laptops come with office 2007 or Word 2007 installed with a 30 day trial. Once this has expired you are expected to pay the full cost of the software that is very expensive. As the others have said open office is free and very good, and it can still handle all the MS Office applications.
Reply:You need to call the company you bought the laptop from and ask them where the product key is.
As for other software to use, openoffice is free and is a complete office suite very similar to MS office

if you just need a word processor Abiword is pretty good as well:

Reply:Openoffice.org. Very similar to the microsoft word and it is free. There is a new version 2008 not long been out.
Your microsoft office must have been a free trial.
But try the site above it is a good program.
Reply:Download Open Office Suite
http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.1/ind...
Will open and edit all files that MS does. Looks and feels similar too
Best not to obtain a code as thats just encouraging piracy ;)
Enjoy
Reply:There might be a leaflet in the box the laptop came with, which would have the CoA on it.
Otherwise they may have just loaded onto the laptop for you to try, and actually hope that you'll part with £500 for the CoA from Microsoft.com
Reply:You only get a trial when yo buy the laptop unless you did buy MS office with your laptop. If you still want MS Office you can get a cheap one which will work on 3 PC's but does not include Outlook and that is around £80. And Outlook is either £40 or £80
best place for a good price for MS office is
