On my laptop I have Microsoft works : Calendar, Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Portfolio, Task Launcher...Its not same as Microsoft Office tools, is it? And I need Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Database... A bit puzzled..
I can't find Microsoft office?
No, Microsoft Works is Microsoft's budget (i.e. rubbish) office suite.
If you want Microsoft Office then you'll have to buy it: http://microsoft.com/office/
... but consider OpenOffice.org as a free, compatible alternative: http://openoffice.org/
Reply:Flyword is pretty good and free to download.
Reply:Get openoffice.org it is free and it offers the same features as microsoft office.
Reply:You could use open office. It is compatible with MS office and its free.
Reply:Microsoft office, as in word, excel, power point, access, is a unit that you have to buy separately. there are various prices depending on what you want and whether you require basic or professional.
you can download free viewers to view powerpoint and excel.
You can also download a converter to convert your files from works to office if you had it.
try this link

Reply:Mainly when you buy computers these days you will have Works only installed, Office is too expensive and the retailers want to make their profits. Its still Microsoft but more basic version. If you want Office then you need to pay for it. However, unless you are using more advanced functions and multiple worksheets, Works spreadsheet isnt too bad. Likewise unless you are going to create a proper relational database and set yourself up an all singing all dancing switchboard, then Works database is not bad either.
Reply:try downloading it from the internet by typing microsoft word in google. or if not there must be some other word document on ur comp other than microsoft
