Preinstalled Microsoft Excel??
Click the windows logo on Microsoft Excel when it is open. Select help and the product ID should be in there.
Reply:Unless you actually paid extra for Excel (and the rest of MS Office), that may be only a trial version. To use it, just push past the Product Key screen.

However, be warned that the trial version is good for 25 uses or 30, 60 or 90 days. At the end of that time, and apparently without warning, it stops letting you edit your files or create new ones. You have to purchase Microsoft Office 2007, or at least Excel 2007, to do that.

Like being hooked like a fish, isn't it?

If you’re then interested in buying Excel, check out this URL, especially the second group of listings.

Note that the higher of the two prices quoted is for a full version of that program and the lower, for upgrades from existing software. Read the list of upgrade-qualifying software carefully: MS Works is often one, and may have come on your machine.

Good luck.
Reply:Click the Microsoft Excel Button (in the top left corner) and then click Excel Options ( at the bottom right corner),

Click Resources, and then click About Tab. It will give you the product ID#.
Reply:You may have to do it through the tech support phone number and/or the internet. They will supply you with the required product key. Had the same problem and called. Got someone in South America so was a little difficult to understand. If you have a version of office with excel then there is one key for all the products.
