Microsoft sam??

I want my computer to "talk to me". the speech part of my control panel is set at microsoft sam. for one, i dont want the microsoft sam voice...and i dont know how to make the voice talk when i want i to.... help anyone??

You can install a wide variety of packs or software that brings speech synthesizers (voices) including Microsoft Office 2007 but if you want an easy change, just to make things as simple as possible, go to Microsoft download page, search all downloads and type "speech 5" click in the result "Speech Software Development Kit 5.1" and scroll down to the almost end. You can choose the last option is more than complete, but I suggest you choose the 4th "SpeechSDK51.exe" is pretty much what you need. You will get "Mary" or "Mike" which are similar to Sam, and you will get "Sample TTS" which is more Acceptable. Install them and try them, You may remove them as simple as going to add remove programs in your control panel. Reply if you are having problems
Reply:Sam comes with XP by default. By installing MS Reader (https://www.microsoft.com/reader/en/upda... you can add Lernout %26amp; Hauspie Michael and Lernout %26amp; Hauspie Michelle. You canchoose which voice you wish to use with the Control Panel's Speech dialog box.
