Microsoft has announced it’s attempt to buy Yahoo for a cool 44b or so.Yahoo has invested heavily in the Flash platform… would MS change this to Silverlight (I’d assume so and don’t htink it would be a necessarily bad move for adoption of Silverlight… IF handled correctly).Yahoo MSN would make a more realistic contender in the search engine wars...Yahoo have alot of assets (as in companies), would these be left alone or MS’d?
1) If Microsoft buys Yahoo!, will Google buy Adobe?
2) What’s going to happen to all the flash stuff with Yahoo? Will Microsoft slowly replace those services with silverlight?
3) what Adobe going to do?
If Microsoft buys Yahoo!, will Google buy Adobe?
You are correct to worry. While there have been some intelligent comments from Microsoft people about the unwisdom of combining their and Yahoo!'s technologies, there are already analysts, reporters and activist shareholders talking about the cost savings to be had from moving Yahoo! over to Windows. As a Gimp-hating Linux user I can assure you that it would make a lot of what I do inaccessible. I do think that the group of people who would find this the case would be large enough so that would erode any cost savings.
At the same time, if you read Microsoft's rationales, what you will come to understand is that they and Yahoo practically control the graphic advertisement markets. That is what this is about. Yahoo! does it better but it isn't so successful a market that they can laugh at this takeover bid. And Microsoft wants to own the market. This is just a stupid idea: the market isn't profitable and they can only make it less so.
As for Google buying Adobe, I think they have too much sense. Not only are most of their advertisements text-based, but Adobe's expertise is in graphics AND COMMERCIAL PUBLISHING (why I mentioned above I hate Gimp). Most of Adobe's expertise is well outside Google's infrastructure-based focus. Such a sale makes as much sense in the long run as Microsoft's purchase of Yahoo! And of course that purchase makes no sense at all.
Of course Microsoft could adopt Yahoo!'s technology, but then it would be making Windows look bad, which of course is not going to happen.
If Google buys Adobe they will have to spin it off eventually. It is not a natural fit at all.

Reply:I think ms has the best software ever. But sometimes they make stuffs so complicated. Also, their software is awesome, but after they make it, other people make better use of it than themselves. ms is good to create the tools, just let others to use them.
Also, I neither like nor dislike yahoo. I think it's Ok. But if they merge with ms, it's the end of yahoo. Also, google is doing fine and, by far, they have the best and fastest search engine on the web, but they better stay away from Adobe or bye, bye Adobe quality products.
I think, there is nothing to do, but sit down and wait to see what happens.
Reply:I hope no!! Google sucks, and Adobe is great. I don't want Google contaminate it with its incompetence and negligence.
You'll see... once I reported a bug in Gmail and they replied my saying that they were "working hard on it". Six months later the bug was still there. However.... I did the same with Yahoo Mail and they fixed that bug in less than 24 hours!!!
Google launched an useless messenger called "GTalk"... a messenger which you can't change its nickname, you can't appear offline (unless you are using Gmail) and when you send files you CAN'T do it using Jabber protocol.
Gmail has not a link INSIDE the "compose mail" to see your contacts...
Google sucks, and they don't do anything to improve their stuff. Imagine what could happens if Adobe join them!! You'll have a Photoshop and Adobe in beta FOREVER.

Adobe, AOL and Apple should merge themselves and go for the web!! then they should buy Yaho and fight against Micro$oft and "Google".

I seen a program which blowed the hell out of my mind that will blow flash and adobe **** away put together.. but I cannot confirm it's microsofts release because I had not even seen this on the net (i went with my buddy to microsoft headquarters and walked up to a peep but didn't know anything about it until lately)
