Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook 2003 Send as Attachments?

I have a user that uses Microsoft Outlook 2003 as his default email program. When he wants to send an attachment he usually right click on the file, send to, mail recepient and file is attached in a Microsoft Outlook 2003 email. The problem crops up when user is in Microsoft Word and choose File, send to, mail recipient. The problem is that the attachment is attached to an outllook express email. User cannot send this mail as outlook express is not configured. Can someone tell me where I can find the settings to allow attachments only to be send by Microsoft Outlook 2003?
