I deleted Microsoft word ! ah oh no.?

okay so i like deleted the microsoft program from my computer, and from my recycle bin too ! ah.


and i have the microsoft disk, and i like install it and it says: please wait while microsoft configures microsoft office 2000 then the loading thing will stop and it will say:


Error1305.Error reading from file:


E:\PFiles\MSOffice\WINWORD.EXE. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.


adn then there is a retry button and cancel and i have tried retry and i just dont know if i need to do something with winword or whatever that is? HELP !

You need to determine the specific cause first. Try the following in this order, stopping when you locate the issue:


• Check the CD/DVD for dirt or scratches. Clean it and try again. If it’s scratched badly, you might need another copy for installation.


• If it’s a DVD, are you trying to run it in a CD drive?


• Try the CD/DVD in another computer’s drive. If it works, the problem could be your drive. Try cleaning your drive with a cleaning disc.


• Quit all unnecessary software that’s running and try the installation. A program may be interfering with the installation.


• Run a system profile to determine the brand or model of your drive and search Microsoft Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com) for known drive or CD/DVD-recording software issues.


• Check with your drive manufacturer to see if there are any firmware or driver updates for your drive. If so, install them and determine if this corrects the error.


• If you have an IDE/ATA (Integrated Drive Electronics/Advanced Technology Attachment) drive, disable DMA (Direct Memory Access). DMA is a high-performance mode of data transfer that bypasses the CPU. Disabling it may let the drive complete installation without the error. Go to Control Panel, select Performance And Maintenance, and click System. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager. Find IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and click the plus sign. (If you don’t see your drive listed, you have a SCSI drive, which has no DMA option.) Double-click Primary IDE Channel and select the Advanced Settings tab. Under Transfer Mode, select PIO Only and click OK. Restart your computer and try the installation again.


• Do you have multiple versions of your drive installed? If so, they could be conflicting with each other. Go to Control Panel and double-click System. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager. Find the DVD/CD-ROM drives and click the plus sign to see what devices are installed. Right-click each and select Properties. Write down the information you find in this window. Restart Windows in Safe Mode. Go into Device Manager and expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives. If there are multiple instances shown under your drive, remove all that don’t match the information you noted from the Properties Window by right-clicking and selecting Remove. Restart your computer and try the installation again.


• Try a clean boot of your computer. This will start your computer with only the basic devices and services and might let you successfully install the software. To do so, click Start and Run and type msconfig in the Open field. Click OK. Under the General tab, select Selective Startup and deselect Process SYSTEM.INI file, Process WIN.INI file, and Load Startup Items. Under the Services tab, check the Hide All Microsoft Services box and click Disable All. Now click OK and restart your machine. Try the installation again. If it doesn’t work, you can restore your normal settings by running Msconfig again and selecting Normal Startup under the General tab. Now restart. If this solves the problem and you can install, you’ll still want to restart with normal settings after the installation is complete.





If none of the above resolves the problem, try reinstalling Microsoft Data Access Components. In My Computer search for the file Mdac_typ.exe on your CD or DVD drive. When you find it, double-click to install. Finally, if your system is on a network and you have access to a shared CD/DVD drive, you can try connecting to the drive and installing the software from it.

By the way, you can't run Winword.exe from the installation CD. You'll need to install the app first. Start with setup...

Reply:I think the CD is damaged. Try cleaning it. If still no luck, you can download OpenOffice. its 100% Free and compatible with Microsoft Word documents! I hope this helps!
Reply:Winword is Microsoft Word! This obviously means that the disc may be scratched, the file is missing/corrupted/or deleted from the cd. Try cleaning the CD and then try again.
